Junior Scientists Research Experience Program (JSREP)
Objective
This program is intended to support the overarching goal of Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), which is to foster a research culture in Qatar. Specifically, the grants offered through the Junior Scientists Research Experience Program (JSREP) will: 1. Contribute in building human capital in Qatar through supporting junior scientists 2. Fund research of interest to Qatar National Priorities
Description
QNRF runs two JSREP cycles per year. The program will fund up to US$100,000 per project per year for duration up to three years.
Responsiveness to Challenges
Qatar is investing heavily on its human capital to build a knowledge-based society and achieve the 2030 Vision. The JSREP will help to build human capital in Qatar by supporting junior scientists to initiate or lead their own research. The JSREP will also provide incentives for institutions to build the organizational infrastructure needed to support the researchers. Furthermore, the JSREP will help to promote knowledge and technology transfer.
Potential Benefits
In addition to helping foster research that will directly benefit the junior scientists, this program will also provide benefits to Qatar by addressing its national priorities and contributing to the achievement of its noble vision.
